Where is the Settlement Center?
Nestled in the picturesque coastal village of Borgarnes, just an hour north of Reykjavik, the Settlement Center is situated in the heartland of one of Iceland’s most famous medieval tales: Egils Saga.
Your route
From Reykjavik you take road No. 1 towards Akureyri. When you reach Borgarnes, turn left at the junction and take the main road through the village. You will find us on the left hand side, by the coast, in two of Borgarnes’s oldest houses.

The Center is open all year from 10am. to 9pm. Groups can gain access to the center outside of normal operating hours by prior arrangement with the management. Please call 437 1610 or our general manager 695 2330
